A Guide to Alone Time with An Extrovert

This last week I didn’t know what to expect as I embarked on the new journey of CGA.. I was thrown into a whirlwind of new people, new places, and new experiences.

In the past few weeks, I have stayed in 4 different places! I finally moved into my house at CGA on Friday… only to pack up and bag and leave again on Monday for a 5-day retreat to start off this season right with my new family!

We spent a week together without electronics in a beautiful home out in the woods.  I mean this house is HUGE and SO FANCY.  Who knew a dustpan could be a vacuum built into the wall?!  We lived in this house with 30 other people.. and there were enough beds for all of us. 30 PEOPLE.

And Jesus provided it. The Ark is a peace-filled house that provides space for missionaries to rest and rejuvenate.  The Lord is active there and it’s evident by the presence of His peace and love experienced by those who stay there.

One day this week, we were asked to spend a whole day alone fasting.

ALONE. NO TALKING. NO HUGS. AND NO FOOD.

And it was the best 7 hours I have had in a long time.  The Lord woke me up with a sweet whisper and a hot shower. Then we spent the day outside, surrounded by trees and on a lake.  I sat under a blanket on a gloomy day with my journal, my bible, and Jesus.

And boy, did he show up.  He answered prayers of mine that I hadn’t even necessarily voiced.  When I say that this place is from out of a dream, I mean it. Gloomy days are my favorite!!! And outside… surrounded by trees…. ON A LAKE?!

When we spend our time with him, he rewards us! Jesus loves to love us in the most unexpected ways.  During those 7 uninterrupted hours, the Lord filled me up with his love in ways I had rarely experienced.  He revealed that this next season with Him is about intimacy and guidance. The race was about building the foundation of our relationship with fun, friendship, and love.  But this next season about spending time with him more than ever and letting him show me how.

Now, being an extrovert, I was not excited to spend any time alone, especially surrounded with people that I couldn’t interact with. But Jesus filled me up more than people ever could have that day and made me promise to spend one day a month solo with Him.  So until he says enough, one Saturday every month, I’m going to spend it fastiHng people and food!

Thanks for reading and seeing all the Lord is doing in my life as he prepares me this season! Thanks to my supporters, I’m now at $1,195!! Through words of encouragement, prayers, and donations I am almost at my first deadline of $2000! Now I’m only $800 away!   But I can’t get there without your help! So thank you for your continuing support of prayer and donations!  Please prayerfully consider partnering with me in one time or monthly support by clicking Support Me on the left side of my blog!

Peace and blessings!
